The Badley family were plantation owners. Henry Badley (1810-1883) resided in Port Hudson, East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, from 1843 to 1863, then moved to East Baton Rouge Parish. His sons, Elmo and Henry, Jr. (1853-1902), owned plantations in East Baton Rouge Parish. Henry's daughter Daisy (1888-1973) was the chairman of the League of Women Voters in Baton Rouge in 1921.
